Hi, I'm Darren Powell, a singer, flugelhorn player, songwriter and filmmaker from the Southern Highlands of New South Wales, Australia. Welcome to my website.
When I'm not working on film projects I perform at gigs singing songs from The Great American Songbook. Every Sunday afternoon I'm down at Chat's Cafe in Robertson, NSW, between 12.30pm and 4pm.

I'm currently putting together a new film project for 2009. The film has the working title 'The Magic Bottle'. Please email me for a copy of the script if you're interested.
Also, here is a link to a 93 minute feature film I've recently completed called The Silent Woman. This film is based on an original story by Robbert Smit (the Producer of the film) who has also directed such films as 'Footrot Flats', 'The Magic Pudding' and 'Blinky Bill'.
As part of 'The Silent Woman' film project I have been working with a brilliant pianist/composer named Stewart Dudley with whom I helped write the following song for the film. Here is a
